Product description:

The Organophilic Clay can be used to impart viscosity and suspension properties to oil-based drilling fluids, improves the carrying capacity, YP, gel strength and suspension of weight material. It also assists in improving filter-cake quality and HTHP filtration control.

Applications/functions: 

• Helps impart LSRV, and suspension properties.

• Helps improve hole cleaning during drilling operations.

• Improve filter-cake quality and HTHP filtration control.

• Improves emulsion stability

Advantages: 

• Can be added directly to the system

• Thermally stable at temperatures greater than200ºC(392ºF)

Typical properties: 

• Appearance: Flowing white powder

• Bulk Density: 400-600kg/m3(25.0-37.5 lbs/ft3)

Recommended treatment: 

• For diesel based system with addition of 5-40kg/m3(1.75-14.00lb/bbl)

• For mineral oil based system with addition of 10-40kg/m3(3.50-14.00lb/bbl)

Packaging: 

• SCETGEL is packaged in 50-lb (22.7-kg), multi-wall, paper sacks.

• Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Store away from incompatibles.

• Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletizing, banding, shrink-wrapping and/or stacking.
